Feed your cat a healthy meal

Cat treats vary due to sizes, breeds, etc. So ensure you are getting the right treat for your cat. You can also get varieties during your first pet food shopping to figure out your cat’s preference.
Get a food and water dish
While on a shopping for your new pet. Get your cat a comfortable food and water dish. You can also get a fountain instead of a water dish for a constant supply of fresh water to keep your cat hydrated and besides, cats love to drink running water.
Get a litter box
If you do not want your cat burying their urine and excretion all over your home then the best thing to do is to get a litter box which saves you the stress of always cleaning up after them. You can even get an automated litter box that cleans up your cat’s waste after use.

Brush and bathe your cat regularly
Cats are referred to as the neater pet compared to dogs because they love self-grooming and hence you do not need to bathe them every week.
However, your cat should be brushed at a minimum of twice a week to remove dead hair, flakes, and extra dirt from his/her coat. You should also ensure that your cat gets a bath every 4 to 6 weeks.
Trim your cat’s claw regularly
It is very essential to trim your cat’s claws to prevent him/her from hurting both you and itself. So, make sure you trim your cat claws at a maximum of every two weeks. If you can’t get it done yourself, you can ask your vet for help.
Get your cat some toys
While shopping, get your cat as many toys as possible. You can get him/her some intelligence developer and interactive cat toys to keep him/her busy while you are unavailable. It is also a healthy way to further enhance their hunting skills.
Spend time with your cat
It’s playtime! Cat’s love affection and the best way to show them affection is to spend some quality time and play with them. In the process of doing this, you are also exercising them which is important for their overall movement.
